LASER THERAPY AND ATHLETES
Many athletes have used Laser Therapy for sports related
injury. Lasers have been used for cyclists in The Tour de
France for common problems including tendonitis, abrasions,
lacerations, muscle tears, joint trauma, strains, hematomas
and all areas pertaining to the neuromuscular skeletal system
PAIN MANAGEMENT – OVERVIEW
As scientists have learned more about the
nature of light and its positive effects on the body, new
techniques and devices have been developed to use light as
part of the healing process. This is referred to as low-level
laser therapy or Phototherapy.
In much the same way that the cells of plants
respond to the sun through photosynthesis, Phototherapy uses
light energy to stimulate the body’s cells; accelerating
the body's natural healing processes.
Treatment intervals may vary from every 2/3 days per week
to once a week depending on the stage of the injured area
(acute, resolving, or chronic).Treatment time
may vary from 15 seconds to 45 seconds per area.
